Linings for glass tanks and ceramic kilns

Glass furnace refractories sit at the intersection of high temperature, glass-melt corrosion and stringent contamination tolerance. Get the wrong grade in the crown and you get stones in the glass; get the wrong grade in the regenerator and you lose efficiency to slagging. We supply the conservative, well-proven grades that container, tableware and pressed-glass tanks have used for decades — plus the ceramic-fibre back-up that cuts crown losses.

Equipment we line in Glass & Ceramics

For each piece of equipment below, we list the wear pattern we engineer against and the product families we typically supply. Click any product pill to see grades, specifications and FAQ for that family.

Glass Tank Crown

Wear pattern: Sodium-vapour corrosion, thermal cycling, structural creep

What we supply: 90% Sillimanite-mullite bricks, 60% alumina low-iron, ceramic-fibre back-up blanket

Breast Wall & Sidewall (Above Metal-Line)

Wear pattern: Batch carryover abrasion, sodium attack, thermal cycling

What we supply: Bonded AZS substitution (Sillimanite-mullite), 70-80% alumina, dense low-cement castable in side-port openings

Regenerator Chamber (Checkers)

Wear pattern: Thermal cycling, sulphate slagging on checker top, dust deposition

What we supply: Low-iron fireclay checker bricks, 60% alumina top-checker, MgO checker bricks for premium tanks

Working End & Forehearth

Wear pattern: Glass-line cutting, thermal gradient stress at gob delivery

What we supply: Bonded AZS substitution shapes, 90% alumina mullite tiles, ceramic-fibre lid-board insulation

Tank Bottom (Paving)

Wear pattern: Glass-line erosion, refractory upward drilling from convection

What we supply: Fused-cast AZS paving (sourced), 90% mullite back-up, fireclay safety paver

Burner Ports & Throat

Wear pattern: Flame-impingement thermal shock, batch-carryover abrasion at throat

What we supply: Sillimanite-mullite specials, low-cement castable with steel-fibre, ceramic-fibre back-up insulation

Ceramic Kiln Roofs (Tunnel, Top-Hat, Shuttle)

Wear pattern: Thermal cycling, alkali volatilisation in glaze firing

What we supply: Insulation bricks (Group 23-26), ceramic-fibre modules for crown, low-creep mullite shapes for spans

Kiln Furniture (Cars, Setters, Posts)

Wear pattern: Mechanical loading at high T, thermal cycling, glaze attack

What we supply: Recrystallised SiC kiln furniture (sourced), cordierite-mullite battens, alumina-mullite posts

Supply & Despatch

Tableware, container and speciality glass plants in Maharashtra and Gujarat (Nashik, Mumbai-Vasai, Vadodara) source crown, breast-wall and regenerator refractories from our Chakan stock. We coordinate cold-repair material packages with planned tank rebuilds.

Glass & Ceramics questions, answered

Quick answers to the questions plant maintenance teams ask us most often.

Do you supply fused-cast AZS?

Fused-cast AZS is sourced — we don't melt-cast in-house. We supply Sillimanite-mullite alternatives for many tank-bottom and throat applications where AZS is the historic spec but no longer cost-justified, and we coordinate AZS imports for premium float and tableware applications.

Can you supply complete cold-repair packages?

Yes. Crown bricks + breast-wall shapes + checker-pack bricks + ceramic-fibre back-up + bonding mortars, all coordinated from our Chakan plant for a planned tank cold-repair window.

Are your bricks low-iron certified?

Yes. Glass-grade fireclay and high-alumina bricks are supplied with low-iron specification (typically Fe2O3 ≤1.0%). Iron specks in the brick translate to glass defects, so we test every lot.

Do you stock kiln-furniture for ceramic firing?

Cordierite-mullite battens and posts are stocked in standard sizes; recrystallised-SiC plates and box-setters are on indent. We can supply complete kiln-car loading plans for tunnel kilns.
